This is an antique American silverplate cake or fruit basket, with a swinging decorative handle. The inside of the bowl has a lovely decoration of leaves, flowers and cherries (or apples). It is made by Wilcox Silver Co. and has pattern number 6736. It is c 1880. It is in excellent condition. It is about 30 cms across. A wonderful decorative or centrepiece.

An absolutely stunning antique American silverplate figural pickle castor complete with pickle tongs. It stands about 29 cms tall and is decorated with leaves berries a bird and a cherub as well. Beside a bit of silverplate wear to the lid, it is in excellent condition. It is stunning Victoriana c1870. It is marked on the bottom as made by the famous Meriden B (Britannia) Company and has pattern number 220.

c1870 antique American figural silverplate brides basket/fruit bowl/centrepiece with original glass insert

This is a fabulous American c1870 figural silverplate brides basket (that is what they were called but it can be used as a centrepiece of a fruit bowl) complete with its original glass insert (which is quite rare to find) which is an almost effervescent blue colour with milk glass finish around the frilled edges. the glass is also decorated with grapes and vines like the silverplated frame. This piece is marked as having been made by Rogers & Bro, with the pattern number 4490. Rogers & Bro started in 1858 (in Waterbury CT USA) and was incorporated in the International Silver Company in 1898. The basket stands about 23 cms (9 inches) tall. In excellent condition. No damage to the glass, and no silverplate loss. A rare find and an exceptional piece.
