rare Chistofle (France) food warmer, c1920
Item number: SIL23010300
Price: $525
A lovely Chistofle (of France) food
warmer. You don't see many of these, and the only other one I have seen
was on ebay where it sold for over $200 plus postage, in 2005, and that had the
small candle cup insert missing. This is beautifully made and probably
dates to the 1910-1920 period. It sits on 4 ball feet. It is also
stamped Coll-Gallia, which may be the makers name. It is in excellent
condition.
Just imagine how useful this would be at a dinner
party, and the interest it would generate from your guests.

silver plated shaped-edge entree dish with
cover, figural handle
Item number: SIL04020227
Price: $395
This is a fabulous silverplated shaped edge entree
dish with cover. I
haven't looked up the hallmarks as yet but believe it to be early 20th
century, maybe even mid-Victorian c1850. The edge of the lid is
inscribed with "Rev. E. Teekan from the Sisters of O.L.S.H. Mascot
25.12.53". The diameter of the dish is about 27 cms. It is in
exceptionally good condition, and has a very ornate design and handle.
Items like this are hard to find. It has good weight and is a quality
item.

Challenge Teapot ceramic silver casing Art
Deco perfect
Item number: SIL26031934
Price: $195
This is a lovely unusual teapot or coffee pot made
by Challenge where
the beautiful ceramic pot with lid sits inside a metal silver plated
and insulated case...the case also has a catch on the lid so it does
not accidentally open...the whole thing stands about 22 cms tall and
would manage 4 to 6 cups depending on your cup size of course. It is
classic Art Deco in design with some Arts & Craft thrown in for
good measure...note the beaten look to the casing. I have sold lots of
challenge perfect teapots before, but I have never seen a pot like this
before...it is unusual, beautiful and rare. It is in excellent
condition. Looks like it has not really been used. I would say it dates
to the 1920s or 1930s. A lovely find indeed.
